Welcome to the Abstract Submission Portal

NAACCR invites you to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations at the NAACCR Annual Conference in June 2024.

We welcome submissions from colleagues, health professionals, and students interested in cancer surveillance, research, and registry operations. All submitters whose abstract is accepted must be available to present on June 25-27. The day and time will be determined in the Spring of 2024.

Abstract Submission Deadline: January 31, 2024, 11:59 PM MDT.

The 2024 Annual Conference will allow attendees to share ideas and learn from national experts in cancer surveillance, cancer registry operations, and cancer research. Sessions will explore emerging topics in cancer surveillance from multiple perspectives in North America. Contributors are encouraged to submit an abstract in one of the following suggested topic areas:

 

1. Big Ideas in Cancer Surveillance 
1a. How to modernize the Cancer Surveillance System
1b. How to make cancer data more timely
1c. Using minimal datasets or partial records 
1d. Visions for the future
1e. Leveraging partnerships and collaborations
 
2. Epidemiologic Studies Using Cancer Surveillance Data
2a. Epidemiologic studies
2b. Social determinants and cancer disparities
2c. Using real-world data from cancer registries to improve cancer outcomes
2d. Issues with race and ethnicity data
 
3. New Directions and IT Solutions    
3a. Technologic and scientific advances and innovations
3b. New and emerging methods of data collection
3c. Informatics, AI and Cloud Technology
 
4. Childhood Cancers
4a. Surveillance issues specific to children
4b. Childhood Cancer Data Initiative, National Childhood Cancer Registry and STAR Projects
4c. Pediatric epidemiology
 
5. Data Collection, Tools and Operations 
5a. Data quality control and standards
5b. Innovative operations and procedures
5c. Overcoming issues with data sharing
5d. New solutions in pathology and non-hospital reporting
5e. Registry operations showcase
5f. Central cancer registries 101 topics
 
6. Other Relevant Topics

Authors are encouraged to consider the submission of a collaborative breakout session focused on a specific topic. These sessions should have 3-4 speakers from different registries/organizations. If you are interested in collaborating with others to present a themed breakout session, please indicate this in the respective text box upon submission. 

 

POSTER COMPETITION

If your abstract is accepted as a poster, you may enter the poster competition. To qualify for the poster competition, you must submit both a poster video and a PDF prior to the Conference as well as present a printed poster at the Conference. The award winners will have their videos presented during the Conference and must be available for live Q&A after.
