This interactive session will provide attendees with foundational knowledge of food is medicine, an interdisciplinary and rapidly growing sector of healthcare, and an overview of current food is medicine interventions. Attendees will engage in a live cooking demonstration as a representation of one common type of food is medicine intervention, culinary medicine. Following the cooking demonstration, breakouts will provide attendees with an opportunity to discuss and problem solve challenging areas of Food is Medicine intervention development and implementation. Breakouts will be followed by a shareback and full group discussion.

• What is Food is Medicine? (5 minutes)
o Definition
o Overview of primary Food is Medicine interventions
• Overview of current Food is Medicine interventions (20 minutes)
o Populations targeted
o Sites of delivery
o Process outcomes
o Efficacy outcomes
o Cost effectiveness
• Interactive cooking demonstration (15 minutes)
• Interactive breakout session (30 minutes)
o Discuss and problem solve challenging aspects of Food is Medicine interventions in small groups, from development to implementation and evaluation
• Group share back and full group discussion of strategies and approaches discussed during breakout session (20 minutes)
