Details
Aim: To present, discuss and engage the ISBNPA community into theoretical, methodological and technological advances to develop co-creation for health promotion and behaviour change into a rigorous and evidence-based methodology.
Rationale; Co-creation is a participatory research methods that is increasingly used and advocated in health promotion and behaviour change research. However, it pauses a number of methodological, ethical and pragmatic challenges.
Format: The symposium will present and discuss the research of Health Cascade (www.healthcascade.eu) an international network centred on making co-creation trustworthy and delivering practical tools. Researchers (ECRs) from five continents and six different European institutions will show and discuss challenges and advances around three clusters of enquiry. First, a theoretical and methodological enquiry investigating questions such as what epistemological underpinning and theories inform co-creation, what methods are best suited, how to evaluate co-creation and what ethical considerations need to be put in place. Second, enquiry about how technology such as artificial intelligence can enable better and more trustworthy co-creation. And, third what can we learn from action research in co-creation health promotion interventions in different settings and sectors: education, workplace, health and care practice, schools and urban environment.
The speakers (three pairs of ECRs) will present the methods of enquiry, results and how ISBNPA members can contribute and be part of the network. They will show practical tools for the research community.
Interaction:The discussant (Prof Nanna Lien), who leads one of the largest co-creation project in Europe will animate a panel discussion with 15 ECR members of the network to engage the audience.
