Details
Purpose: To discuss insights into how to support the lifestyle professional in the application of (digital) tools for supporting lifestyle change.
Rationale: Digital tools are all around us, also in healthcare. Although the Covid-19 guidelines have promoted the use of these tools, their use by lifestyle professionals in daily practice is still limited. In this symposium we will share knowledge and experience how to overcome barriers to integrate these tools in daily practice of lifestyle professionals.
Objectives:
- Increase knowledge of available tools to support the lifestyle professional in their daily practice.
- Share ideas how to overcome barriers that prevent implementation of these tools.
- Start the discussion on how to support lifestyle professionals in the application of (digital) tools.
Summary: In this session we will focus on the use of digital tools by lifestyle professionals. We will focus on two target groups: adults and children with overweight. First, we will show how lifestyle professionals can be supported in the use of e-coaching for their adult overweight clients by developing an online platform for lifestyle professionals. An important and critical phase in changing lifestyle behavior is the maintenance phase. Therefore, the second presentation will be about perceived barriers by lifestyle professionals in guiding their clients through the maintenance phase. Chances for the use of (blended) tools will be discussed. At last, we will switch to the target group children with overweight. The wishes and needs for blended care for overweight children will be discussed. We will end with a discussion on how to support lifestyle professionals in the application of digital tools.
