Technical Tour
During the technical tour, you will visit three state-of-the-art nuclear facilities.
- Saskatchewan Centre for Cyclotron Sciences
The Saskatchewan Centre for Cyclotron Sciences (SCCS), owned by the University of Saskatchewan, operated and managed by the Fedoruk Centre houses a 24 MeV cyclotron, cGMP manufacturing area, and radiochemistry laboratories. The newly upgraded research wing is equipped with small animal imaging capabilities, plant imaging and additional spaces for research. - Canadian Light Source
The Canadian Light Source is a class I nuclear facility, the only Canadian synchrotron. It accommodates the electron linac used to produce medical isotopes. - Allard-Roozen Imaging Suite
The Allard-Roozen Imaging Suite is located at the Western College of the Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) and accommodates a clinical size PET/CT scanner. The WCVM one of only five other North American Universities with Veterinary Colleges equipped with full imaging capabilities for animals including PET/CT; SPECT, CT, MRI, and x-ray for large animals.
