Welcome to the IOHA Abstract Submission Portal

The International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) and the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH) invite you to submit abstracts for IOHA 2027, taking place in Montreal, Canada, from October 4–8, 2027.

All submitters whose abstracts are accepted must be available to present in person on October 4-8, 2027. The day and time will be determined closer to the conference. 

Abstract Submission Opens: September 1, 2026

Abstract Submission Deadline: February 28, 2027

Abstract Notifications: April, 2027

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• All abstracts must be submitted via the Online Submission Portal no later than February 28, 2027
• The word limit for abstracts is 350, exclusive of title and authors.
• Abstracts must be submitted in English.
• The abstract title must be 15 words or fewer and written in Title Case.
• Include the following sections with a line space between each: Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
• Standard abbreviations and acronyms (e.g. AIHA, IOHA) may be used without prior definition; all non-standard terms must be defined where first used in the text.
• AI-Assisted Writing: Authors must disclose the use of AI-assisted writing tools (e.g., for drafting, editing, or language refinement) at the time of abstract submission.
• Tables and figures should not be included, references are not required.
• Please check your abstract carefully; it will be published on the conference website and program as submitted.
• The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.
• No changes may be made to abstracts once the abstract submission deadline has passed.
• Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered. 
• The Abstract Review Committee will determine acceptance and the presentation type of each accepted abstract, with consideration given to the author’s preference. The committee’s decision is final.
• Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must be registered and paid participants. Registration must be received by the Secretariat by May 8, 2027 to ensure inclusion of the abstract in order to be scheduled for presentation.

PRESENTATION FORMATS

• Oral Presentations (20 Minutes = 15 Minutes + 5 Minutes for Q&A)
• Lightning Talks (5 Minutes)
• Poster Presentation (Printed Posters, constructed from lightweight material)
